TLDR: Shin Shin Tang, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and author of Asian American Psychology and Psychotherapy: Intergenerational Trauma, Betrayal, and Liberation. She also serves as an adjunct instructor at Oregon State University.

The longer story: Dr. Shin Shin Tang earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon. Her research and writing on the intersection of trauma, gender, and culture has appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as The BMJ, the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, and the Journal of Trauma and Dissociation where she served on the editorial board for seven years.

Dr. Tang has over two decades of experience providing psychotherapy with a focus on trauma. gender, and Asian cultures. She strives to integrate a social justice and anti-bias perspective in all her work. She now works in private practice in Eugene, Oregon, on the unceded lands of the Kalapuya.

Dr. Tang believes everyone has a right to know how to take care of their mental health. She has collaborated with Dr. Lori Allen to develop animations for children that teach basic mental health skills and co-authored two books on how to take care of your mental health. .
